Dr. Karen-Marie Yust preaching in Newport News, VA

Dr. Karen-Marie Yust, Josiah P. and Anne Wilson Rowe Professor of Christian Education, will be preaching and leading worship at Denbigh United Presbyterian Church. Dr. Yust will incorporate songs and prayers from Iona spirituality in the service as part of the congregation’s focus on “communities of prayer” during a pastoral sabbatical period.

One of the biggest challenges congregations have in 2017 is attracting young people. Dr. Yust will talk about youth and emerging adult spirituality and how churches can better understand and minister with young people. The evening begins with a covered dish dinner.
