Associate Pastor (Children & Youth)–Trinity Presbyterian Church– Pensacola, FL
Primary Responsibilities:
-To enhance our current programs and to create new opportunities for our children and youth to experience God and to become disciples of Christ -To provide a safe, welcoming, and affirming environment for our children, youth, their friends and the unchurched -To lead and coordinate the parent led Youth Ministry Team and the Children’s Ministry Team -To engage our congregation as volunteers, teachers, and mentors in all aspects of these ministries -To work with the Senior Pastor, Staff and Session to further the mission and ministry of Trinity Presbyterian Church -Assist the Pastor with worship, sacraments, and preaching as scheduled Expanded descriptions of Primary Responsibilities: -Evaluate current needs and structure of our program for Children and Youth -Work with current ministry teams to create a long-term vision of children and youth programs at Trinity -Build a relational ministry with our children, youth, and families -Recruit, train and assist volunteers, leaders, and mentors -Evaluate and recommend resources for curriculum choices for Sunday School, Children’s Church, and Youth Bible Studies -Communicate our vision for children and youth with the congregation and keep them informed of programming and opportunities to support our efforts -Be a visible and active presence in the congregation -Plan seasonal activities (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter) -Implement the safety policies of Trinity Presbyterian and ensure that all leaders, chaperones, teachers have been screened with a background check -Schedule and lead monthly meetings with the Children and Youth Ministry Teams -Attend and participate in regular Staff meetings -Assist in preparing an annual budget for Children and Youth Ministry Teams -Maintain open and active communication on a regular basis through a variety of platforms -Other duties and tasks may be assigned by the Senior Pastor and/or the Session Responsibilities specific to the Children’s Ministry are: -Plan and coordinate activities such as (but not limited to): Sunday School, Children’s Church, Wednesday Night Supper activities, monthly fellowship, and service projects -Become familiar with the Godly Play curriculum and teaching methods -Support our Godly Play investment through promotion, resources, and training -Organize and lead Vacation Bible School -Outreach to Trinity Learning Center (TLC) staff and families Responsibilities specific to the Youth Ministry are: -Plan and coordinate activities such as (but not limited to): Sunday School, Sunday night youth fellowship, Wednesday Night Supper and bible studies, retreats, conferences, fundraisers, service projects and mission trips -Assist with annual Confirmation Class -Be available to chaperone retreats and/or mission trips -Coordinate special events such as Youth Sunday worship serviceshttp://trinitypcola.org/children/
