Online Course: Worship & Sacraments (Pathways Online Course)

This is an online course that is open to all. This 6-week course includes weekly online class meetings, on Tuesday evenings, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. EST. In addition to the live class meetings, this course includes both reading and written assignments.
Online Course Title: Worship & Sacraments, Pathways Online Course
Course Description: This course will examine the history, theology, and practice of worship and sacraments. While rooted in the reformed tradition, the goal is to deepen appreciation for a variety of worship services and liturgical practices. Through reflections on readings and discussions of observed liturgical rituals, the course will seek to cultivate enlivened worship leadership practices and their theological impact within the particular ecclesial context for each person. At the end of the course, participants will be equipped and inspired to craft and lead worship that is lifegiving for them and their worshiping congregation.
Online Course Format: Weekly class meetings via Zoom Technology, along with assignments posted on Blackboard, the seminary’s learning management system (login credentials provided)

Dates: Thursdays, April 21 – May 26, 2022, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time
Cost: $135, if register by April 6, 2022. (Note: Beginning April 7, price increases by $15).
Pathways to Learning and Leadership is an online program of nine courses offered over a two-year period to provide educational preparation toward leading a congregation as a Commissioned Ruling Elder (CRE). Courses are open to all, one does not need to be pursuing to become a CRE in order to participate. Courses aim to enhance knowledge and discipleship, and each course is five weeks long.
