Online Course: Reformed Theology (Pathways Online Course)

This is an online course that is open to all. This 6-week course includes weekly online class meetings, on Tuesday evenings, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. EST. In addition to the live class meetings, this course includes both reading and written assignments.

Online Course Title:  Reformed Theology, Pathways Online Course

Course Description:This course is designed to provide students with knowledge of and appreciation for the Reformed theological tradition in which the PC(USA) is rooted. The course will explore the central tenets of the Reformed tradition, its contemporary significance for the life of the church, and its relationship to the broader ecclesial and social contexts.

Online Course Format:  Weekly class meetings via Zoom Technology, along with assignments posted on Blackboard, the seminary’s learning management system (login credentials provided)

Led by: Dr. Rachel Baard, Assistant Professor of Theology & Ethics, Union Presbyterian Seminary

Dates: Tuesdays, January 11 – February 15, 2022, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time

Cost:  $135, if register by December 27. (Note: Beginning December 28, price increases by $15).

CEUs:  3.0

Pathways to Learning and Leadership is an online program of nine courses offered over a two-year period to provide educational preparation toward leading a congregation as a Commissioned Ruling Elder (CRE).  Courses are open to all, one does not need to be pursuing to become a CRE in order to participate. Courses aim to enhance knowledge and discipleship, and each course is five weeks long.
