This is a hybrid course which will meet requirements for Christian educator certification in the PC(USA).  The hybrid format includes at-home/online work as well as in-class time on Union Presbyterian Seminary’s Richmond campus. Asynchronous online learning (at-home work) begins on February 24, 2020; online synchronous learning (live online class meeting) is March 24-26, 2020.

This class meets the requirements for Christian Education certification in the PC(USA), but is open to anyone interested in the topic. You do not have to be seeking certification in order to participate in this hybrid course.

Description:

This course is designed to equip Christian educators for in-depth interpretation and teaching of the Bible. The course will provide a historical overview of interpretive traditions spanning from the biblical era to the present, with key emphases on historical and cultural location and the contribution of interpretation within the Reformed Tradition.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in the exegesis of selected biblical texts using their acquired knowledge.
