Inhale

BY SANDRA C. WILLIAMS (M.Div/MACE,’06)

“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.” 2 Corinthians 2:14 (NASB)

I give God thanks on this day, for this day! How awesome is the God we serve in Christ Jesus.  As God leads us through challenges, seen and unseen, we are engulfed by the sweet aroma and Holy presence of knowledge that I personally pray for each and every day.  Without knowledge, we lack the capacity to move through the world seeking to know more about Creator God and lack the desire to know and relate to God’s crown of creation, fellow human beings. Each individual has a divine purpose that should not be ignored! The individual standing next to us has value and potential to make a difference in this world, regardless of race, color, ethnicity, age or gender. It’s time for us to inhale that sweet aroma!

The world in which we live appears to be filled with disturbances rather than agreements, distractions rather than peace of mind, hatred rather than kindness, controversy rather than harmony, lust rather than love.  I believe our lives and the lives of all around us long for, even thirst for refreshing that only comes from the sweet aroma of Creator God. It’s time for all of us to inhale that sweet aroma!

As God leads us through illnesses, diseases and conditions that doctors shake their heads at and throw up their hands, having no answer to give; we must know that the sweet aroma of the knowledge of God will take us into a Holy realm that no earthly being can explain. It is this God and that sweet aroma of the knowledge of God, that triumphantly leads us into peace, solitude, health, healing and wholeness.

God always leads us, the people of God, in a noble and triumphant way into a better place; and when you inhale on the other side of your struggle, the very essence of God’s presence is sweet; sweeter than anything we have ever smelled or experienced before! If you know God, you know for yourself how sweet the very essence of God is!

Today, instead of talking about how rough things have become or may become, focus on how sweet our God in Christ is right now, in this moment, and then inhale and share the knowledge of God who is always triumphant.
