Associate Pastor–Trinity Ecumenical Parish–Moneta, VA

Trinity Ecumenical Parish seeks two associate pastors to partner with our Head of Staff and the congregation in the full ministry of an active ecumenical parish. While all pastors will function as generalists, one associate will coordinate communications and the other will have responsibility for volunteer support and faith formation. Pastors and staff use a team-based approach to ministry, in partnership with an engaged congregation. The parish is composed of three congregations—Presbyterian, Lutheran and Episcopalian. Together we honor each of the three faith traditions, celebrate diversity & unity, and rotate monthly liturgy among the three traditions. We operate with unified leadership, stewardship and one ministry budget. Pastors function ecumenically in the parish and participate in each of the three denominational structures—Presbytery, Synod and Diocese. Trinity Ecumenical Parish works because it is grounded in scripture, centered in worship and has been open to the leading and the power of God’s Holy Spirit. From our very beginning in 1991, ministry and mission were claimed as more important and more powerful than church polity and church politics. It has taken seriously the calling to be the Body of Christ and serving one another, our community and the world.
