Covenant Pastor to Youth and Their Families – Second Presbyterian Church – Richmond, VA

Children’s and Youth Ministry & Education
Be a consistent, positive presence with children and youth on Sundays; teach and lead church school and worship care. Build and support a team of Sunday School teachers. Ensure a welcoming, faith-nurturing atmosphere. Expand the program by reaching out to less-connected families. Plan and lead summer experiences. Organize Confirmation Class and support ongoing youth involvement; hire and supervise youth advocates. Coordinate with Children’s Music Leader; hire and supervise Nursery staff.

Worship Leadership & Congregational Support
Organize and lead monthly family worship with preaching and communion. Regularly lead Children’s Moment and preach 3 times per year. Assist in worship planning. Organize the Christmas Pageant, lead Youth Sunday planning, and integrate youth and children into worship. Coordinate with Music Director and Organist. Collaborate with pastors to respond to pastoral needs.

Congregational Engagement & Outreach
Encourage involvement among inactive children, youth, and families. Support communication tools that foster spiritual growth. Promote mission projects and outreach. Assist with media and tech supporting Children, Youth, and Family Ministry.
