Former chairman of PSCE Board of Trustees Emile Dieth passes

RICHMOND, Va. (February 8, 2019) – Union Presbyterian Seminary has just learned of the passing of Emile H. Dieth, Jr., former chairman of the PSCE Board of Trustees and president of Montreat Conference Center. He died February 7, 2019 in Houston, Texas.

Dieth was a graduate of Tulane University, where he served as director of major gifts from 1994-96 and as executive director of alumni affairs and annual giving from 1996-98. He was called to serve as president of Montreat Conference Center in May 1998 where he served until 2003.

His three years in management at Chevron U.S.A., Inc., were preceded by 23 years at Gulf Oil Corporation where, until 1985, he served as manager/national accounts in the Houston office.

An ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), Dieth served both church and community in a number of appointed and elected capacities, including president of the National Council of Presbyterian Men and as a member and chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, Virginia (now Union Presbyterian Seminary).

Dieth leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Lori; son, Danny Dieth (PSCE, M.A.’95) and his wife, Vicki Caro Dieth (PSCE, M.A.’95); and daughter, Debbie Dieth Butler and her husband, William Butler, as well as four grandchildren.
