Assistant Minister – Woodlawn Community Fellowship – Charlotte, NC

Woodlawn Community Fellowship (WCF) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Minister to design and lead a Jesus-centered program that nurtures the faith of children and youth through meaningful relationships, creative teaching, vibrant community, and shared experiences of God’s love.

The Assistant Minister will also work closely with the Campus Pastor to foster a church-wide, multigenerational atmosphere of belonging, peacemaking, friendship, and trust through programming for adults as well. This position offers the unique opportunity to build a children and youth ministry from the ground up while participating in a multifaceted ministry within a new, growing, neighborhood-centered congregation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead children’s ministry across multiple age groups
  • Develop and lead a cooperative youth ministry (middle and high school)
    (Our church is one of four nearby congregations collaborating to support youth ministry.)
  • Plan Sunday and Thursday evening programming, special events, and seasonal activities
  • Build strong relationships with children and their families
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment
  • Serve in a variety of ministry roles as needed
  • Collaborate with church leadership to align ministry efforts with the overall vision

Qualifications

  • Strong Christian faith and a passion for children’s and youth ministry
  • Ability to teach in engaging and age-appropriate ways
  • Strong relational and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and compassionate
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; theological training is a plus

Compensation

  • Full-time salary range: $40,000–$45,000 annually, commensurate with experience
  • Part-time compensation prorated based on hours/responsibilities
  • Insurance support included for eligible employees
  • Opportunity for compensation growth as the ministry expands and responsibilities increase
