For thirteen years — during the federation of Union Theological Seminary and the Presbyterian School of Christian Education as UTS–PSCE and the launch of new degree programs in Charlotte, NC — Louis B. Weeks served as President. Previously, he served as a stated supply pastor, a church redevelopment pastor, a missionary of the Presbyterian Church in Congo (then Zaire), and as a professor and dean at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
His books include To Be a Presbyterian (Revised Edition, 2010), All for God’s Glory: Redeeming Church Scutwork (2008), The Presbyterian Source: Bible Words That Shape a Faith (1992), and Making Ethical Decisions (1987). He also co-edited six casebooks and helped lead The Presbyterian Presence (1989–1993), a seven-volume study of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
In retirement, Weeks has written regularly for several online platforms, including Resourcing American Christianity, Faith & Leadership, and The Presbyterian Leader. He continues to share in teaching the Fellowship Class at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church.
Weeks has been married for more than sixty years to Dr. Carolyn Mang Weeks, a psychologist and educator. Their sons, Louis and Sidney, are married, with children who are both grown and still in school.
