Brisson’s interests focus on the service of biblical languages to the preaching and teaching ministries of the Church, and on the various ways the discovery involved in the study of Greek and Hebrew texts is shaped by and into the proclamation of the Gospel through sermons and in teaching. He is also interested in exploring the relationship between theology and the fields of literature, creative writing, and the performing arts, and is a member of The International Society for Religion, Literature and Culture, and of The Society of Biblical Literature. He has served for many years as an associate editor for the seminary’s journal Interpretation, with responsibilities for the section “Between Text and Sermon,” and he currently serves as the essayist for “The Gargoyle Speaks” column of Focus. He has contributed articles and essays to Pulpit Digest, Interpretation, and Lectionary Homiletics, and to The Pastor’s Bible Study, Volume Two.
