One Seminary, Two Campuses

Union Presbyterian Seminary operates as a single, accredited institution with two distinct campuses in Richmond, Virginia, and Charlotte, North Carolina. This model fosters a one faculty, one community approach, designed for a diverse student body to engage in transformational pedagogies and accessible theological education at both locations. We provide a theological education that allows students to grow academically, spiritually, and vocationally while remaining rooted in local communities.

Visit Charlotte

5141 Sharon Road, Charlotte, NC 28210

Our Charlotte Campus was designed so that people could say yes to God’s call without having to give up their day job. Our Charlotte program was originally housed on the campus of Queens University until 2012 when it moved to the Sharon Hills area of Charlotte. Our Charlotte program has been optimized to allow for students to pursue a seminary education without leaving congregations or ministries, regardless of location.

Interested in exploring theological education at UPSem Charlotte? We offer individual tours as well as the option to join us on a day of discernment.

Visit Richmond

3401 Brook Road, Richmond, VA 23227

The Richmond campus is located in the historic Ginter Park neighborhood in Richmond, Virginia and was built at the turn of the 20th century. Located in the city’s North Side, the campus is a tranquil space for reflection and respite. The red brick and mortar on campus is the same as that used for the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. The 56-acre campus has a wealth of amenities and services for students, scholars, and leaders. View a campus map here.

Campus visits are hosted Monday through Thursdays. Please provide one business week’s notice to give our admission team time to prepare for your visit!
