Strategy & Institutional Effectiveness

footer0back

The Office of Strategy and Institutional Effectiveness supports Union Presbyterian Seminary's mission through two interconnected functions.

On the effectiveness side, the office oversees UPSem's accreditation relationships with the Association of Theological Schools Commission on Accrediting (ATS) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), and coordinates the assessment work that keeps those accreditations current. This includes institutional data collection, outcomes assessment, and the reporting and self-study processes both agencies require.

On the strategy side, the office partners across the institution to strengthen programs, processes, and structures—helping ensure they remain effective, aligned, and well-positioned to serve the seminary's mission.

The office also provides strategic oversight for Information Technology, Hospitality and Community Initiatives, the Leadership Institute, UPSem's four Centers, and the Seminary Extended grant funded by the Lilly Endowment.
