Interpretation Journal Names New Editor

Union Presbyterian Seminary announces the appointment of Dr. Marianne Blickenstaff as managing editor of Interpretation: A Journal of Bible and
, a premier quarterly journal published by the seminary since 1946.

According to Interpretation co-editors Samuel Adams and John Carroll, “Marianne brings rich experience and stellar ability as an editor in academic religious publishing. She possesses a passion for resourcing the life of the church with biblical and theological scholarship.”

Blickenstaff formerly served in editorial posts with both Abingdon and Westminster John Knox presses. Holding a Ph.D. in New Testament from Vanderbilt University, she is the author of While the Bridegroom is Still With Them (Bloomsbury T&T Clark, 2005), as well as over fifty articles. She has also edited hundreds of books and articles, including many publications by faculty at Union Presbyterian Seminary. To contact Blickenstaff:

Blickenstaff succeeds Debra Reagan, who concludes ten years of outstanding leadership of the journal on May 1 to take a new position as director of spiritual development for a congregation in Texas.

“Even as we extend deep thanks to Debra Reagan for her decade of dedicated service,” says co-editor Carroll, “we welcome Marianne Blickenstaff to the seminary community and to our favorite journal!”
