Union Presbyterian Seminary trailblazing alums will be honored at a banquet hosted by the Black Alumni/ae Association on February 15 at Ginter Park Presbyterian Church.

Dr. Syngman Rhee will be serving as special assistant to the president for global ministry and advancement focusing on the seminary's work with Asian and Asian American churches, both in the United States and Korea.

Dr. Sung Hee Chang joins the seminary as director of the Asian American Ministry Center and assistant professor of Christian education.

Professor Emeritus of Bibliography John Trotti will receive the Excellence in Theological Education Award given by the PC(USA) committee on theological education.

The American Society of Church History Honors Professor Mark Valeri

American Academy of Religion unanimously chose Katie Cannon, Annie Scales Rogers Professor of Christian Ethics, to receive the 2011 Teaching Award in November.
