A Series of Theological Conversations


Public Presentation:
Sunday, October 19, 2014
4:00 – 5:30pm

Dr. James Howell and daughter, Rev. Sarah Howell, will present
"A Cross-Generational Conversation: Where the Church Has Been, Where the Church is Going”

Dr. James Howell is the Senior Pastor of Myers Park UMC, the author of fifteen books, serves as adjunct professor of preaching at Duke Divinity School, is a frequent preacher on Day 1/The Protestant Hour and active on many boards and agencies representing Methodism locally and nationally.

Rev. Sarah Howell is Associate Minister at Centenary UMC in Winston-Salem where she leads Roots Revival, a mid-week worship grounded in Americana/roots-based music.  She is active in international missions and women’s ministry.

This father-daughter team promises to deliver a unique perspective on today’s church! Everyone is welcome and this event is free and open to the public and will be held in the Gathering Space of the Charlotte campus (address below).

12:00pm – Luncheon

Area pastors and Christian educators are invited to attend a time of conversation on the  topic of “A Cross-Generational Conversation: Where the Church Has Been, Where the Church is Going” with Dr. Howell and Rev. Howell on Monday, October 20th  in the  Gathering Space  of the Charlotte campus. Lunch will also be provided for this event, therefore, reservations are strongly encouraged.  This is a free event.
